What Is the Highly Skilled Migrant (HSM) Visa?

The Highly Skilled Migrant (HSM) visa allows non-EU professionals to work in the Netherlands under a recognized employer. It is designed to attract international talent in sectors where skilled workers are needed.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for an HSM visa, you must:

  • Have a job offer from a recognized sponsor (approved employer).
  • Meet the required salary thresholds (updated annually).
  • Hold a valid employment contract in a high-skilled profession.
  • Be under the Dutch employment rules and tax regulations.

Salary Requirements for 2025

The minimum gross monthly salary requirements (excluding holiday pay) are:

  • Under 30 years: €4,171
  • 30 years and older: €5,688
  • Recent graduates in the Netherlands: €2,989
